Welcome to Elizabeth Pressler from Del City

Marion LeCrone from Friends of the Library spoke about getting Friends' Grants. She discussed what grants were approved and why and gave examples of well-written grants. The deadline for submitting a grant is April 30, and the Ad Committee meets in June to discuss and decide. If you're interested, don't hesitate to apply. Call Marion with any questions. If you do get a grant, be sure to credit the Friends and use their logo. It is on the clip art/flyer template. Marion also gave out brochures, so people could join the Friends.

Dana said the Metro Magazine would be coming out quarterly, with an events calendar coming monthly.

Anita discussed Winter Readfest, which will be in February-March. There is a new form, which will be mailed. Participants will come in to the libraries to drop off forms, and they'll get a book bag if they sign up. Prizes will be at the end. You can take forms to nursing homes if you like. More info later.

The Retreat in January was next. They will send directions, but right now, park in the Galleria and come in the east door. Donna Morris, director, will speak, and there will be a box lunch. Some possible topics include Gangs in libraries, Calendar Creations in Publisher, & time management. Contact Anita if you have suggestions or menu restrictions.
