UPDATED - Website and Intranet Updates – April 2017

**Updated** Web server update

April 21, 2017 - Our web host has has delayed our server update.  We are still awaiting to hear the date it will be completed.

April 13, 2017 - Our web host is upgrading our hosting environment next week.  We do not expect any downtime, but wanted to let you know of this update.  For those who are interested and want to know more, our server has reached its end of life and will go off to server heaven.   

We will receive a brand new server space with solid state drives (replacing spinning disks), vastly increased memory, dynamic daily backups and a shiny new administrative interface.    Our host will also perform basic optimizations to help optimize our web and database servers.    The switch is set to take place Thursday, April 20^th between 2am - 3am.    We will update you of any setbacks or possible outages.

Web Site Search Default Changing Back to Catalog on Monday, April 17th - Completed

Thank you to everyone for your input on the search default choices for the web site.  Due to some ongoing issues with EDS, and after getting your feedback about your own and member experiences, we will be changing the default search on the web site back to the catalog as of Monday, April 17^th.  There will be a drop-down box where members can access the Discovery search.  Please keep in mind that users are likely to need our assistance in noticing and using this search function.  Please pass along any comments received from staff or members after the change is made.

In the upcoming fiscal year, we’ll be taking a closer look at what we want from our discovery platform and will be doing extensive user experience testing to create the best possible environment for searching our resources.  If you’re interested in being part of this process, please let us know!
