Updates to Policies

MLS is taking some recommendations to the August Commission meeting on a few policies.  You need to be aware of these and that they are changes we need to make due to our new software.  Some background on a few of them:

• For many years our uncataloged paperbacks have had no overdue fines and the fee for lost or damaged was $3.00 because we could not provide to customers the title and other details about items.  With the new software, we will be minimally cataloging those items and we will be able provide the author, title and cost of the item. With the new software, our magazines will also be available as reserve items.  Consequently, the recommended policy is for all MLS materials to have the same overdue fine and lost/damaged fee structure. • Evanced's Spaces is not able to use the fee schedule approved earlier this year for meeting rooms so a new fee schedule is proposed.
