Reminder: AutoMate Replaces Auto Repair Reference Center on August 1st

REMINDER: Starting August 1st, ARRC will no longer be accessible and will be fully replaced by AutoMate.
UPDATE: AutoMate is now available! Please guide your customers (especially those who regularily use ARRC) to AutoMate over the next two months.
At the end of this summer, Auto Repair Reference Center will be replaced by AutoMate. AutoMate offers the same remote access to car repair guides and diagrams so nothing will be lost. The new database is designed for easier discovery and clearer instructions, plus even more cars!
I think customers will be pleased but this is a change and they need to be prepared. From May 23 through July 31, the two databases will run concurrently on the Research page. Starting August 1, we will no longer be linking to Auto Repair Reference Center. This gives staff and customers over two full months to become adjusted to AutoMate.
Talking Points
- The new AutoMate database is a great choice for viewing on a tablet.
- AutoMate contains all the service and repair information you’re used to finding in Auto Repair Reference Center including:
- Service and repair procedures
- Wiring diagrams
- Technical service bulletins and recalls
- Maintenance schedules
- Specifications
- Diagnostic trouble codes
- Labor estimates
- Parts pricing
- Component locations
- The new AutoMate database is easy-to-use and accessible from your own garage!
Action Steps
- Check out AutoMate by searching for one of your vehicles. List any trouble you ran into.
- For comparison, do the same thing in Auto Repair Reference Center. How did you find the two experiences?
- How will you pitch this new database to customers who are already familiar with Auto Repair Reference Center?
- Is two months enough time for customers to find out about AutoMate and comfortably make the switch?

This is so much more user-friendly than Auto Repair Reference Center! A++, would use again.
