Playaways are Coming!

Playaways are coming! Next week... Wednesday, January 25 to be exact.

What's that you say? It's kind of like an mp3 player that has a full audiobook already on it.  No downloading. No CDs to load. Nothing. Just press play. They are so cool and so tiny!  You can easily fit one in your pocket.

Right now, the playaway collections will be at six libraries (Capitol Hill, Del City, Warr Acres, Village, Downtown and Northwest). But, anyone can reserve them, so you will see them on the reserves at all the libraries. And right now, we already have tons of reserves for them. Customers will need to provide one triple A battery and their own earbuds, but we will be selling these at all locations for $1 each  All locations will receive a supply of batteries and earbuds on Tuesday.  One battery will last the entire length of the book, and if they have extra battery left, the battery is theirs to keep (since they bought it!.. same goes with the earbuds... we don't want those back!)

You may have already noticed the new icon for playaways</x> in the catalog. It looks like a little orange mp3 player; just do a keyword search in the catalog for audio media player and you'll see what's in the playaway collection.
Because there are already so many reserves, we'll be adding playaway collections at more libraries next fiscal year. But remember, you can always reserve one at any location!

Also, for promotion of this, we will have posters, flyers and bookmarks available on the MAC supplies catalog on Monday for you to order. Many of your managers have already ordered some, so they will get there Monday or Tuesday.
