Paycom Coming Soon

Press Release & System News

Next month, MLS will switch its payroll software to Paycom. Included in the change will be all Payroll and Human Resource functions, including not just the payroll payments to employees, but also scheduling, benefit recording, tax payments to governments, time off recording, W-2s, Wage and Earning statements, job recruitment, and plenty more that I can't think of right now.

The attempt is to make the new system work like the old, in that no policy changes are anticipated, but there will certainly be differences. One change is that the system is online, with  much less paper generated. Another change is the use of time clocks, which will probably not be as popular a change, but which is sorely needed for several reasons, the primary being federal compliance with regulations that require proof of hours worked (so no one can be forced to work overtime without compensation).

Attached is a schedule with the tasks yet to be accomplished in order to convert. The first evidence of the system being installed will appear next week with the installation of time clocks at every location. The following week Paycom will begin training all of us.

Also attached is a schedule of that training, including the use of the time clocks, recordkeeping, and benefit tracking. Everyone should attempt to attend one of these training sessions. Paycom assures that the time clocks are simple and fast, so we don't anticipate many problems with them.

February 16th is the day we start using the time clocks (February 16 being a Monday and the first day of a pay period). Then, the BIG day is Thursday, March 5, when we all receive our pay off the new system! Please check your pay stub closely that day to ensure that all withholding and other amounts are done correctly.  I am confident, but cautious too!
