Manual Fines Proposal

In the spring of 2020, Collection Development and Access Services reviewed the use of the reduced pricing for the $7 disc replacement and reduced costs for damaged Playaways. The $7 disc replacement is rarely used, and at times, used incorrectly. The reduced pricing of Playaways is overwhelmingly not applied and customers are charged the full amount of the item. Further details are in the attached proposal. In order to provide more consistency on how damaged and lost items are handled, we will be discontinuing the use of the reduced charges for disc replacements and damaged Playaways beginning July 1st and they will be subject to the full replacement cost of the items.
