Database Highlight #40: We'll go International for That

Print

This week’s database highlight, Global Road Warrior, asks “Where do you want to go?” The question can be answered by accessing travel guides for over 200 countries. Select from an alphabetical list, using the map, or search with a keyword and return a complete travel guide right on your screen or in your mobile browser! This database is great for school country reports as well. Topics covered include: culture, climate, recipes, money, security, travel essentials, and more.

Nothing compliments a report like a good infographic. This week’s open site is Statista.  At first glance, it’s a little busy but keyword and topic searching lead to interesting statistical visualizations. You’ll have to wade through ads asking you to purchase content but there’s more than enough free content to enjoy.

The Gambia and Gabon

I'm currently reading about The Gambia, a country on the west coast of Africa. Their dessert, chura-gerteh, which is a sweet porridge, sounds yummy.

I'm also reading about Gabon, another country on the west coast of Africa. Their currency is the Central African CFA Franc, which is the currency of six African nations.
