LOTE4Kids Demo

Collection Development is considering LOTE4Kids as a new acquisition to our digital resources collection. It is a resource aimed at providing children's titles in many different languages as well as multiple sign languages. They also offer activities that can be used online or downloaded and printed. With your supervisor's approval, please try out this demo over the next two weeks and email any feedback you may have, either positive or negative, to [email protected].

Chilton Automotive Trial

Hello Metro,

Collection Development is considering alternatives to our current group of automotive reference and repair resources. One of the new resources we're considering is the Chilton online automotive library. With your supervisor's approval, please try out this new resource and try to keep in mind how it compares to Metro's current Mitchell automotive resource. The Trial link can be accessed here. The access code you'll need is: okla66073.

Booksale 2024 is Coming!

The Friends of the Metropolitan Library System will host their annual large book event  - Booksale 2024! - at the end of February. The best way to get all the event info. is to peruse the website: www.supportmls.org/booksale!

The event will be free and open to the public on Saturday and Sunday, February 24 and 25 from 9 am to 5 pm at the Oklahoma Expo. Building at the Oklahoma State Fairgrounds. Using 3213 Wichita Walk, OKC in the map app of your choice should get you there!

Issues & Controversies Database

We have decided not to renew Metro's subscription to Infobase's platform Issues & Controversies. This database has experienced a downward trend in usage for multiple years now, and it did not respond to a recent attempt to increase awareness among guests. Further, the information provided on the platform is available through more widely used news and financial resources. This does NOT apply to the platform Issues & Controversies in History.
