Eric Litwin Author Visit

David Newyear dresses up as Pete the CatWe were fortunate enough to have children’s author Eric Litwin visit a couple of our libraries.  Eric was in town to visit a number of schools and we were able to snag him for three programs at Belle Isle and Southern Oaks.

HeartWalk 2015

Thanks to all who made the AHA Heartwalk April 18th such an amazing success!  Our MLS Staff Volunteers, their families and friends (two and four-legged) came out in force to walk against heart disease.  Thanks especially to all those who donated and held down the fort so your co-workers could participate – you were with us in spirit!  We’ll have our total donation amount in a couple of weeks, but in the meantime,  check out all the fun!

Children's Day Festival 2015

On April 19th, Capitol Hill and OUT staff participated in SW 29th Street's 3rd annual Children's Festival Day. Theme of the event was "Family Fun Focused on Children's Future".

At the library booth, families and children visited to pick their choice of an age-appropriate book. We estimate that between 700-800 books were distributed. Spoticus was on hand to give hugs and high-fives!

What a great way to emphasize that the library plays a big part in forming a child's future.
