On Lynda I started the Project Management Coordinator videos. I hoped these might help me get the project of selling our house, moving into the RV and retirement in better shape and on point, focused on tasks to do.
at Codeacademy I looked at the Building a Website course, it interested me because my 11 year old grandson took a course this summer at the Vo-Tech and this could be a program we could possible do over a 4-6 week period for kids ages 11-15. I think it would be well received.
I'm really excited to see that Lynda.com offers design courses, specifically typography as that is something I'm really interested in! I started a video called Logo Design: Techniques, and hope to learn more about creating cohesive pieces!
After hearing the guest speaker at ALA talk about girlswhocode.com, I'm really interested in trying to start something like that at Metro. Recruiting kids who already attend Chess Clubs, Teen Service Teams, and other groups with regular attendance could help populate a new club for coding! CodeAcademy looks like an awesome resource for starting up a program aimed at this age group, but also for adults who want to add this job skill to their resume!
Yes, it's absolutely named after your grandma! I can wait to see what kind of logos you design. I remember your drawings in the programmer's meeting being really good!
From Lynda.com: Management Tips Weekly looks like it should be helpful for learning some quick management tips. So little time, so much available on Lynda.com. :)
Codeacademy is terrific, and I found this other site that has coding tutorials and games too: https://code.org
