A new feature from OverDrive

There's a new feature in our OverDrive catalog that we wanted to highlight in case you receive questions from customers. All of our eBooks (and only our eBooks; not our audiobooks) have a "Buy It Now" button that will allow customers to purchase a copy of the eBook from a list of vendors including Powell's Books, Barnes & Noble, and Amazon. Metro will receive a portion of each sale and it will be credited back to us in order to buy more digital titles for our collection.

This could be a helpful feature for customers wanting to read those popular titles for which we never seem to have a copy "on the shelf." So if I don't want to wait for Game of Thrones to become available, I can simply click the "Buy It Now" button:

and I can choose to buy it from a number of vendors:

I would be able to start reading the title right now (like I want) and Metro would get a portion of this sale that they can use to buy more digital titles so win-win! The "Buy It Now" feature is available for all eBooks regardless of whether they are checked in or out.
