It's a Library Miracle!

This was Ralphie’s reaction to some news about our eMedia collection so we figured we’d share it with all of you, too.

The checkout limit for eBooks and audiobooks has been raised from 5 items to 10 items! This should help those avid eReaders and listeners who previously had holds become available while already having their 5 item checkout limit maxed out.

OverDrive has assured us that sometime in the near future, Amazon will be removing the USB Only requirement for Kindle titles from the Penguin Publishing Group. This means that customers will no longer have to suffer the current “download, plug and transfer” process and will instead be able to checkout Kindle titles “over the air” as they do with the rest of our Kindle collection.

And finally, we are working with OverDrive to create an “eReading Room for Kids.” This “room” will be a section of our OverDrive-powered website that displays titles only for kids. Read more about it and explore a room that has already been setup by a library in Washington.

We think these changes are more exciting than the official Red Ryder, carbine action, two-hundred shot range model air rifle and are much less likely to put your eye out. We hope you’re excited about these changes, too!
