ONEcard w/ Meaghan Hunt Wilson @ 1:35pm

Meghan gave an ONEcard usage update from the last programmers meetings. So far there are 541 account activated and are being used. There’s about 38,000 accounts open. Ralph Ellison’s numbers are consistently higher than other libraries. There have been a total of 1,940 computer sessions and over 1,000 were at Ralph Ellison. Meaghan gave kudos to Ralph Ellison Library. Overall, most libraries are doing well with ONEcard. About 1,489 items have circulated through ONEcard. Our Marketing Dept. will continue to advertise through different media outlets. Meaghan stated that bookmarks explaining ONEcard are available through the MAC Catalog on the intranet.

Teen Reading Program & Adult Programmers Email Group @ 1:47pm

Teen Read Month is October 1st through October 31st. Emily want library staff to encourage teens to sign up for out Teen Reading Program. She stated that anyone can sign up and anyone can track their reading, but only teens will be entered into the drawing to receive a prize. The member’s Summer Reading login & password should also work for the reading program. The drawing is Tuesday, November 1st. It will take a total of 20 reading hours to be entered into the drawing. Badges will be given for every five reading hours, from five to twenty. All readers can receive a reading badge. Emily encourages people in region to use the Adult Programmers email group.

Adult Programmers agreed they were interested in having an Adult Reading Program back during the winter months calling it either Book Lover’s Read Fest or Winter Read Fest. The reading program will use the same function as our Teen Reading Program during the fall. Any age can participate, but prizes will be limited to individuals 18 and older.

Quiz on Pop Culture of 70’s was created by Emily Williams, winners were: Kiley Ingram and Ann Meeks.

Adult programmers shared information about programs they we have had recently or are currently planning.

Collection Merchandizing w/ Ruby Soutiere @ 3:30pm

Ruby let the programmers know to always keep MSL in mind when needing a particular book. They can also help with receiving playaways, CDs, and other library materials. Be sure to copy Ruby when requesting a book.
