Summer Reading Update-Week 4

Print

Happy 4th week of Summer Reading!

Statistics Update

Manisha Koosuru, Data Analyst in Strategic Planning, has created various data visualizations to showcase our Summer Reading statistics. Manisha will be updating these data charts every Monday and I will make sure to send out the following link to you all weekly for quick & easy browsing: https://my.metrolibrary.info/drupal/summer_reading/statistics. Thank you to Manisha for all her hard work creating this year's data charts!

As of Tuesday, we are up to 9,605 Summer Reading participants, with over half of those participants logging their reading. We are 34% of the way towards meeting our community goal of 8 million points, with participants logging 2,781,687 points thus far in our Summer Reading challenge! The top books being read are Harry Potter, the Bible, and the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series.

Neighborhood Arts Spotlight

Neighborhood Arts programs are a summer staple at the Metropolitan Library System. This June and July, the entertainment line-up is full of fun, energetic performances from favorite artists and some new ones too. A variety of musical styles and performance arts round out this year's offerings. These performances are sponsored by the Arts Council of OKC, National Endowment of the Arts, and the Oklahoma Arts Council, and aim to provide access to music, dance, and visual arts education to the community.

This year customers can enjoy performances from the comfort of their homes. These performances are live-streamed Tuesday-Friday, everyday at 3pm, throughout June and July. Visit our FacebookYouTube, or Instagram to watch live! Additionally, new performances premiere every Monday on FacebookYouTube, and Instagram. Customers can also find these performances out in the community at various Recreation Centers, the Myriad Botanical Gardens, and Scissortail Park! Customers can view our calendar of events to find out details about each of this year's performances.

A printable halfsheet for Neighborhood Arts is also available on our Summer Reading Downloads page.

As always, please check out our Summer Reading Intranet page for assistance with all your questions or reach out to EPS via phone or email; we are here to help.
