Summer Reading Outreach for Library Locations-Goal Planning and More!

Print

Summer Reading 2021 is just around the corner and the Community Engagement Summer Reading Subcommittee has created a Goal Planning document for engagement staff to begin brainstorming local outreach possibilities for this summer. This form should be saved to your library location's SharePoint so that all team members can begin contributing. Your location's final goal should be submitted via this form by your Library Manager or Engagement Manager by April 15th.

We are hard at work creating content to help make outreach easier for you this summer. Below are a few things you can look forward to:

  • A new toolkit on the Intranet combining the in-library and outreach toolkits (scripts, templates, decor, and more) in one place!
  • A webpage just for schools to help promote Summer Reading, including age specific commercials, social media images, and downloadable reading trackers.
  • An incentivized Summer Reading training for teachers in Niche Academy, including a special OKCPS version with info on linked Beanstack accounts.
  • A marketing toolkit for businesses including "How to start a book club", business reading lists, and posters/ social media content.
  • A listing of local government representatives for each branch.
  • An outreach tracking form to help keep records to use in future years.

More information about the launch of these items will be shared out over the upcoming weeks. Also, be on the lookout tomorrow for information about this year's Summer Reading training!

Thank you,
EPS & the Community and School Engagement Summer Reading Subcommittee
