Hi Everyone,
Happy Summer Reading Wrap Up!
Below are some helpful reminders, updates, and more. Additional info and reminders will be shared out mid/late August as we continue to wrap up Summer Reading and finalize numbers.
Summer Reading Updates & Reminders
- We had 16,526 community members participate in this year's Summer Reading program; last year we had just over 12,700 participants! Additional stats will be shared out mid to late August.
- As a reminder, there is a 2 week (unadvertised) grace period from August 1-14 for prize pickup. Some guests may not have logged their points during June and July due to a variety of factors. Please allow guests to 'backdate' their points earned June 1-July 31 through the August prize pickup window. More information can be found on the SR Intranet page: https://my.metrolibrary.info/drupal/summer_reading/prizes.
- We are making some great progress towards meeting our community goal; we are 88% of the way there! Our tracker can be found on our website and is updated every Monday by CIS. All backdated points logged from today to August 14 will count towards our goal.
- All locations should have received their drawing prizes; if not, please notify Djimon Jones in OES. The 4 grand prize drawings (one for each age category) will be hand delivered by Thursday afternoon once names are drawn. All drawing prize winners will be notified on Thursday and asked to pick up their prizes starting Friday. Locations will be sent a list of winner names and any other pertinent information on Thursday as well.
- If you have leftover SR yard signs, please route them back to OES, making sure to record the number given away under your Library Calendar entry.
- Please continue to place SR prize supply orders as needed; if you are in need of something that is out of stock in the supply catalog let Djimon Jones know.
Thank you to everyone who submitted book recommendations and photos throughout the summer! Here is a final collage of photos from AL (thanks goes to Maddie Wall for the development of AL's mural) and DN, along with a couple final beach read recommendations. Any additional photos from this summer are always welcome!
Thank you for making Summer Reading such a beautiful experience for our community!
