Class & Group Signups in Beanstack

Groups such as day cares, summer camps, classes, and book clubs have the option to register as a group.  They have the option to register all of the readers at one time or each reader individually.  Registering “All at One Time” mean that all reading time and activities that are logged will apply to everyone in that group.  The entire group will earn badges and prizes at the same time.  Registering “Individually”, means that each reader’s time and activities will need to be logged separately.  Badges and prizes for each reader will be earned at different times.

Groups are capped at 50 participants.  If a group has more than 50 participants, then the account creator can add additional groups to their account until they have included all participants.  In this instance, the account creator would need to log the reading for each group on their account separately.

If an existing account holder would like to add a group, they are only able to do this if they have previously managed a group on their account.  If this is the case, when they go to Add a Reader, they will have the option to add a group.  Otherwise they will need to go to the Summer Reading landing page and create a new account for their group.

Outreach will run group reports and notify each library of the groups registered at your location.  Libraries are encouraged to reach out to the larger groups and make arrangements for when and how prizes will be obtained.  If time allows, libraries can deliver prizes to the groups as part of their interreach.  Otherwise, it is a good idea to touch base with the groups about when they will pick up their prizes, to ensure that you have enough prizes on hand.  You can place an order for additional supplies at any time to replenish your stock when groups pick up their prizes.
