New Branch in CARL: "Special Collections at Downtown Library"

We are excited to announce we have a new Branch being added to CARL: Special Collections at Downtown Library. This is a positive change that will promote Special Collections in the Library Catalog to our guests. It is a positive change for staff that will allow them to better use CARL location codes to identify where material is located within Special Collections.

In the Library Catalog, it will be listed as "Special Collections at Downtown Library".

Based on feedback, we renamed the branch to "Special Collections at Downtown Library" to help the guest identify in the Catalog where the Special Collections branch is located. There is no change to the branch code - SCR.

See attached images for what it will look like using facets in the catalog as well as individual material.

As a reminder, material in Special Collections is in-house only at the Downtown Library in the Oklahoma Room. The Oklahoma Room is available by appointments by calling 606-3872 or emailing [email protected]. The material in the Oklahoma Room focuses on books about Oklahoma, Native Americans and the Southwest and includes works written by Oklahomans on diverse topics.
