Final Summer Reading Update!
Now that Summer Reading has officially wrapped up, OES and our Summer Reading Committee members wanted to share some final figures and information!
Summer Reading registrations were up from 12,752 to 16,691 this year; an increase of 30%. Participants earned more points this summer too: 11,643,281 points in 2022 compared to 10,969,418 in 2021; an increase of 5.2%.
We came close to meeting our community goal (96% of our goal was met with 11,643,281 points logged). Because we were so close to reaching our goal, the Summer Reading Committee members and OES made the decision to move ahead with our Read It Forward donation to Smart Start of Central Oklahoma. We will be delivering books in the coming weeks and Marketing will be onsite to capture some images to share with staff and the community!
Thank you for a wonderful summer and all your hard work to promote Summer Reading to our community! The Summer Reading Steering and Subcommittee members met a couple weeks ago to debrief and we have some great feedback to help move us forward into next year's Summer Reading program. We were without some key players this past summer, including a Data Analyst and Marketing Department, and are excited about what next year will look like as we slowly rebuild internally.
