The Journal Record is now Live!

Update: The Journal Record is now live and available to in-house customers!

Renowned for its local business coverage, the Journal Record and its archives are now available on all library computers. Staff and customers will be able to access the Journal Record’s News, Events, Legislative Reports, Public Notices, and Archives. Right now the link is only active for staff so you have an opportunity to dig around and familiarize yourself with the content and interface. We’ll go live for customers on December 3rd.

A few things to note, this is the first time the Journal Record has allowed access to a public library. As such, we will not have access to usage statistics and we can only access the content in-house. We hope to work with the Record to expand access and develop a statistics reporting system but much of that depends on the success of the first year. As you work with customers, if you have any feedback, please share that with Collection Development so we can pass it along to the Journal Record.

Action Steps

  • Visit the Journal Record and read a story that interests you.
  • Try printing an article.
  • Try emailing an article.
  • Find an issue from 2007.

Talking Points

  • Oklahoma’s premier business newspaper is now available on library computers – no having to wait for the print copy!
  • Forget the copier, Journal Record articles can be easily printed or emailed.
  • The library has the Journal Record to read, browse, and search online!

I have recently had a customer asking for this, so I am excited to poke around and explore the new database!
