Digital Dash Update

We’re halfway through the Digital Dash. Wondering how it's going? Click the Digital Dash button to the right of the screen. There you’ll find everything you need to finish out the dash including a mesmerizing counter!

We’ve already surpassed last year’s circulation; we circulate, on average, 3,900 Overdrive media per day. If we continue at this rate we’ll get close, so close, but we won’t pass our goal.

Here are a few things you can do to connect readers to books this holiday season:

• Point out our new Metro Recommends reading room – here members will find all the books our staff recommends. As we go forward this room will continue to fill up!
• Help a member download the new Libby app. Fun, cute, easy – what’s not to love about Libby?
• Remind members that, even if the library is closed for a holiday, they can still checkout at Overdrive.
• Remind members that, if we don't have a title they way want to read, there's always Request to Library. Turnaround time from request to purchase is, at most, 7 days. 
• Going on vacation? Ebooks are easy to carry and eaudio can fill a long car ride better than the radio!
• Check an ebook or eaudio out yourself! If you’ve never tried it, now’s a great time.

The enthusiasm for this year’s dash has been incredible. Every single library has shown growth over this past month and that’s not a coincidence! Whether it’s talking about your favorite book, helping a member set up a new device, or starting impromptu book clubs (Ralph Ellison!), staff in the branches have been going the extra mile (pun!).

Here’s a big shout out to Southern Oaks. In the past month, Southern Oaks Overdrive circulation has grown by 12%!
