Review of Alignment Project Committee Work Plan/ Schedule
Michele shared an updated draft of the work plan resolving the transition dates and other milestones. The group reviewed, discussed and approved it for distribution via the intranet. The distribution of the Public Services/Member Services mapping information will be presented to Library Managers at a meeting at 11am on Friday, April 28. It will be shared with the rest of staff before the end of that day.
DN Library Plan
Melody shared the DN Library Plan which includes core services and plans for the future. The group discussed the plan and made several small edits before approving it for distribution during the meeting with Library Managers on Friday, April 28. It will also be made available via the intranet for all staff after the meeting.
Community Libraries Plan
Chris shared a draft of the Community Libraries plan and philosophy of service. The group discussed the plan and made several small changes to content and format before approving it for distribution during the meeting with Library Managers on Friday, April 28. It will also be made available via the intranet for all staff after the meeting.
Access & Engagement Plan
Ashley shared the A&E Service Model Plan and A&E Best Practices. The group discussed the plan and documents before approving it for distribution during the meeting with Library Managers on Friday, April 28. It will also be made available via the intranet for all staff after the meeting.
Beyond the Walls (BTW), Virtual Library, Call Center Updates
Melody shared the current status of these workgroup proposals. The group approved the CC/VL proposal and the staffing necessary to initiate the program. It also determined that once it was staffed, the work unit would need to convert the proposal into an implementation plan.
The BTW proposal was discussed and while further definition will be sought for its implementation, the group approved its staffing plan.
Transition and Short Term Learning and Development Plan
Michele shared initial plans for staff training during the transition phase of the Alignment Project. The training plan is a work in progress and will include a variety of types of training for library staff at all levels. Trainings for the short term plan will begin in May and continue through December. The group also discussed the list of Best Practices for Alignment Preparation that has been shared with all library managers. All documents – though drafts – will be shared with staff via the intranet and will be updated as they are solidified.
Alignment Roll-Out Meeting
The group discussed the format and responsibilities for the roll-out meeting on April 28th with Library Managers.
