Awarding Incentives Scenarios

One of the most impactful aspects of the summer reading program is the opportunity to celebrate the reading successes by our customers by rewarding them their incentives. The incentives are earned when a reader has completed and logged 30 (thirty) 20 minute sessions per goal level. A participant may claim a single goal or both goal levels in a single library visit.
This year's program has two goal levels and a beyond level entitled "Read it Forward" where a book will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House in Oklahoma City for every reader who completes an additional 30 (thirty) 20 minute sessions beyond completion of goal two.
A complete list of this year's incentives can be found here.
Readers who do not wish to use their FINE WAIVER can "Pay it Forward" and allow the waiver to be given to another customer at the awarding library who may need it to remove or reduce their fines. Staff or teen volunteers will need to record the reader's desire to pay it forward in the Summer Reader software when awarding the incentives at each goal level.
