CONNECT Minutes for March 2012

Welcome—Pauline Rodriguez-Adkins

Power Point presentation—What Cataloging/Tech Processing used to look like as well as the changes in their work statistics.

Department Tours—The group divided into three groups and rotated through the various departments.  Pauline Rodriguez-Atkins handled Cataloging and Interlibrary Loan, Kristin Hill lead the tour through Tech Processing, and Sharon Maine explained Books by Mail and the Book Centers.

Question and Answer session—Once the tours were completed, all of the groups gathered and had the opportunity to ask questions of Pauline, who facilitated the session. 

Barbara Beasley passed along some information from Kellie Delaney (Planning) concerning the CONNECT forum.  Kellie wanted all librarians to know that there is a forum set up based on librarians’ request on the new Intranet.  Click on Committee Forum link under CONNECT Librarian Forum.  This remains confidential to those with CONNECT access.  Also, Kellie is putting together a Librarian Resources page that will list links to popular search engines, Read A-likes staff have created, links to helpful websites, etc.  Please email Kellie any suggestions for inclusion and she will make a portal to whatever you need.
