Wall Street Journal ePub coming to MLS

Print

Hello!

We are excited to say that on February 1st, MLS will acquire access to the Wall Street Journal's website and digitially published paper. We foresee this resource being an asset to the communities we serve. We have been provided with a free trial so that staff may become familiar with the product and become comfortable helping MLS customers with their questions.

The free trial link is here: Free Trial Link

Every MLS customer that accesses this resource will be given a free three-day pass to access WSJ.com.

  1. Customers will click on the link provided on Metrolibrary.org
  2. They will create an account (they won't just sign in that first time, they'll need to create an account - there is no cost)
  3. Their three-day passcode will be emailed to the email they entered on their account.
  4. They can now access WSJ.com for free for three days.
  5. When the three days are up, the customer just needs to go back to Metrolibrary.org and click the link.
  6. This time, they will NOT create a new account, they can sign in using their existing log in credentials.
  7. A new three-day pass code will be emailed to them.
  8. There is no limit on the number of passcoades the customers can get.

There is a helpful video HERE to learn more.

Here is the link for the Outside Professional Development Summary Form.

Our customers will have access to:

  • Unlimited articles on WSJ.com
  • A four-year archive/article search
  • The e-replica of the daily paper
  • More than 30 news letters and alerts of their choosing
  • Informative videos and podcasts, featuring interviews with WSJ editors and notable influencers

We are excited to add this new resource to our digital collection. We encourage staff to try out the resource before it goes live on Febrary 1st and to become familiar with it's operation and content. Please don't hesitate to send me any questions you may have!

Thank you

Is access available on any personal device a customer might have, whether at-home wi-fi or MLS wi-fi?

Great question! Yes, customers can access the resource remotely on any device with internet capability. They'll still need to log into Metrolibrary.org to access the link. They will be able to use their personal devices either at home or on library grounds via MLS wi-fi.
