Introducing the Gale Virtual Reference Library and Gale Directory Library.

As research goes digital, so does MLS. We’ve replaced several print reference sources at a few libraries with digital copies available at all libraries, in-house and remote. The Gale Virtual Reference Library and the Gale Directory Library provide customers and staff with reference sources and directories. Content can be cited, exported, and saved to folders.

In the Gale Virtual Reference Library you’ll find:

American Law Yearbook - A guide to the year's major legal cases and developments including expanded content, updates, biographies of prominent figures and government appointees, and other features. Each year's edition contains the full U.S. Supreme Court docket in addition to the non-Supreme Court cases.

College Blue Book  - The College Blue Book is a guide to thousands of 2-and 4-year schools in the U.S. and Canada with detailed descriptions, including a listing of degree programs offered, scholarships, and occupational education programs.

Contemporary Black Biography - Containing more than 55 biographies per volume, the entries in this reference source cover well-known and respected multi-national black educators, writers, business people, athletes, military leaders and many others. Digital content starts at volume 148.

Small Business Sourcebook  - This sourcebook covers over 300 specific small business profiles, as well as, covering general small business topics: business programs, federal support, and other issues.

The Gale Directory Library is a growing collection of useful directories. The digital versions allow for searching, selecting, and exporting to a variety of formats, including Excel. Right now, the library contains the Encyclopedia of Associations: National, International, and State editions but we’ll be adding more digital directories as they become available.

These reference books are available 24/7 online; however, customers unfamiliar with how a reference title works will still need your help in discovering and using these tools.
