SIRS Cancellations-Feedback Requested
Collection Development is considering cancelling SIRS Discoverer and SIRS Issues Researcher due to very low usage, high cost-per-use, and duplication of content in other eResources. However, we understand that low or inconsistent usage does not mean it may not have value to staff or be used for a purpose we aren't aware of. If you have experience with these databases and would like to share your feedback on this decision, please fill out this survey by Friday, March 12th.
SIRS Discoverer cost-per-use is $193.74. We have many other general reference databases for elementary and middle schoolers such as Explora and Britannica.
SIRS Issues Researcher (previously known as SIRS Knowledge Source) cost-per use is $442.41. Opposing Viewpoints and Issues & Controversies provide much of the same type of content.
