Library Card Sign-Up Month Begins Tomorrow!

September is Library Card Sign-Up Month and we are excited to share some fun promotional opportunities with you! Customers will have the chance to be entered for a drawing for an Amazon Kindle Fire HD 7 and staff will have the chance to win a pizza party.
How can customers get entered?
Library customers will be entered for the drawing if they meet one of the following criteria.
- They sign up to be a cardholder
- They re-activate their inactive card (not used for 1 yr. or more)
- They refer a friend who signs up for a library card (the referral slip must be filled out and sent to marketing)
How do staff win?
- The pizza party will be determined by the percentage increase of new cardholders in September of 2018 compared to September of 2017. The Community Libraries will be counted as one group and Wright and Downtown will be counted as one group.
Suggestions for encouraging library card sign-ups
- Show existing cardholders the referral slips and tell them that by giving the slip to a friend to sign up for a library card they will be entered for the drawing.
- Tell parents they can sign their kids up for a card. After all, it is the most cost-effective school supply they will get their children and it lasts a lifetime.
- Share our Library Card Sign up Month posts on social media to encourage inactive customers and new customers to get a library card.

Hi is there any signage for the promotional. A flier that we could print out explaining it to customers?

Yes, I sent out an email asking library managers if they wanted a poster or 11X17 for Library Card Sign-Up Month. I will send one to NW. Thank you for asking.

Will all new card holders be automatically entered in the drawing, or do they need to fill out the form?
My apologies for not responding sooner. I missed this comment. Yes, they will be entered automatically. Only people who want their friend (who is already a library cardholder) do get entered for referring them need to fill out the form. I hope that is clear. For the people that are coming to reactivate cards:
1. Are they entered automatically?
2. Is it for all library cards or just certain ones (primary adults, annual fee users, internet access, etc.)?
3. Are there steps we're supposed to take to reactivate them? Or is scanning their card enough?

When they use their card they will automatically come up in our report from CarlX to be entered. I hope that helps.
