Free, online tax filing for our customers

Most of us know about the free in-person tax prep help at a number of our libraries but did you know that we have a new partnership this year to provide the same free service online? If you scroll down the page at http://www.metrolibrary.org/tax/, you’ll find some information about MyFreeTaxes.com. MyFreeTaxes.com is a non-profit partnership (funded by the Walmart Foundation) between Goodwill Industries, the National Disability Institute and the United Way. This partnership enables those who qualify to file their state and federal taxes online and for free. 

This is a free service whether or not one has a library card. If you have customers who don’t have the time or the means to make it to one of the in-person tax prep sessions, suggest they take advantage of MyFreeTaxes.com/metrolibrary.
