Hello!
I'd like your feedback on two possible database additions, AtoZ World Food and Food America. Both are part of the AtoZ travel databases family and they would supplement our popular cookbook collection. Here is the link to the databases: https://www.apldatabaseaccess.com/
Username: apl
Password: fresno
The trial will last through July 15th. Please send any feedback you may have to me at [email protected]. Any and all feedback is appreciated!
Thank you

I love how specific everything is to each country. It doesn't feel like generic information was applied over and over again. The etiquette rules are helpful. I looked over the information for several countries I have spent significant time in and was impressed - I started to get nostalgic for some sugarcane juice.
I feel like this would be a great resource for those doing reports on other countries, take home kits with authentic recipes, etc. I also appreciate the regional sections for each country which makes users aware that other countries have their own differences and variations.
While it looks pretty nifty, in the AtoZ Food America product, the recipe for Pecan Pie (only findable in the "South" region, smh) calls for orange zest. ORANGE ZEST. Blasphemy. So it's a "no" for me.
Kidding!
(mostly-don't hate on this if you happen to love orange zest in pecan pie, I've just never ever ever ever ever seen it in any pecan pie recipe or encountered it in person and it sounds awful. Then again, I'm hungry, so...)
You are correct Jennifer! orange zest does NOT belong in a pecan pie.
I have seen some recipes recently in the LA Times or the New York Times that have recipes for "orange pecan pie" so maybe it's something new and in vogue?
BLECHH. And I will eat pretty much anything you put in front of me but orange zest in pecan pie...why? WHHYYYYYYY???
:)
