Press Release & System News

Dear staff:

All along in the classification and compensation study the administration has indicated that no employee’s current pay would be affected.  No one would earn less than they currently were.    I’m now in a position to talk more about compensation and how it will affect future pay.

As you will recall from information that was previously sent to you, five positions were recommended by the consultants to be lowered one grade.

There are currently nine employees in the five positions with these job titles.

Some of the individuals are not at the maximum of the grade to which they are being moved.   These individuals will continue to receive performance increases and market adjustments as normal.

Others are above the maximum of the new grade.  These  individuals will continue to receive bonuses based on performance.  They will not receive market adjustments until the maximum of the new grade catches up with them.

These changes will go into effect on October 3, 2011

Attached you will find the process for filing an appeal in relation to the comp/class study.  This procedure will also be posted on the Intranet.  Please read the information carefully and follow the timetable as it is  time sensitive  with specific deadlines.
