The Spring 2020 schedule for Collection Management workshops is now available. Supervisor approval required prior to enrollment through EduBrite.

 

Recent Policy Updates

The MLS Commission approved recommended changes to several policies during their October 2019 meeting. The effective date was November 1, 2019.   While a brief overview of the changes is provided here, you are encouraged to read the entire policy as appropriate. 

Several changes were housekeeping in nature, such as changing the “member” to “customer” and to clarify intent. Other changes are highlighted below:

What should Metro's new Values be?

The Strategic Planning Focus Group is reviewing our Core Values and recomending changes. They would like to form the new Values with staff. Please share your input on the Values here by December 22. 

Winter Reading Challenge 2020

Why are we doing the Winter Reading Challenge?  There are several reasons we are hosting a Winter Reading Challenge.  They include:

Edmond Library Temporarily Closing-email to customers going out tonight

The Edmond Library will temporarily close on Monday, Dec. 9 until March 2020. Renovations to the Edmond Library will begin next month, improving the library’s energy efficiency with an all new HVAC system, roof, carpet, ceiling and LED lighting. Edmond Express Library at Pelican Bay (1030 S. Bryant) will open on Dec. 16 for customers to pick up their holds and to return books and materials. The book drop at the current location will only be available until Dec. 12.

All holds will be suspended beginning the evening of Nov. 30. This means if you have a hold coming in, it will say "suspended" on your account until holds 

We did it! 2019 United Way Campaign Results

We did it!

Metro staff raised almost $7,500 for the United Way. Way to go!

Casual jeans day passes and buttons will be sent to staff who donated $25 or more. Staff will need to turn in a pass to their supervisor on the days they choose to wear jeans and wear their badge showing why they get to wear jeans that day.
