MLS is partnering with the Oklahoma Department of Libraries to offer the PLA 2020 Virtual Conference
Event: PLA Virtual Conference
Dates: February 27th and 28th, 2020
Location: Bethany Library will host both days
NOTES:
- Seek Supervisor approval prior to attending
- All MLS Staff (Public Services and Departments) can attend a session(s) if approved by your supervisor
- No Pre- Registration Required (just show up for your chosen session(s)
- There will be a sign-up sheet and a room monitor ~ You will be required to sign in to receive your professional development credit in EduBrite
- This is a professional development opportunity if a session(s) is attended it can be noted on your Performance Development in the "professional development" competency
- View the schedule below to pick your session(s). You can attend as many session of interest with your supervisors’ approval

Will MLS have a room for our supervisor-approved staff to attend? If so, where in the system? Assuming I have supervisor's approval do I have to pay the hundreds of dollars in registration fees? Does MLS foot the bill? Can anyone regardless of their position in the hierarchy of employment in MLS attend, again with supervisor's approval?
Will there be a deadline with MLS to register? Does a supervisor-approved attendee register with you or with PLA?
Will a supervisor-approved attendee get points on their performance development for 2020?
Hi Jim,
I am not sure what you mean a room. Bethany is hosting the event in one of their rooms per the posting. MLS is partner with ODL, all you have to do is gain your supervisors approval, show up at Bethany for the virtual session(s) you would like to attend and sign in. Anyone in the system can attend with supervisor approval, it has been approved by Chris Kennedy. Even departments can attend if they want to learn something new (with supervisor approval). There is no deadline, per the post. Show up on the 27th or 28th.
