Library on (the) Line Plan

  • Melody shared the Library on (the) Line Plan (formerly the Call Center and Virtual Library) which includes an overview, member engagement model, staffing, space needs, equipment, and technology as well as future plans.  The first libraries to have calls answered in the Call Center will be DN and BI, and additional libraries will be added as the group scales.  The plan will be posted on the intranet this week.

Review of Learning Experiences Division Org Chart

  • Tim shared updates to the Learning Experiences Division including a revision that will have the School Liaison report to the System-wide Children's and Teen Services managers and the Business Liaison report to the System-wide Adult Services Manager.  Tim is considering how to integrate TeXperiences into the division.   Interviews will be conducted soon for the system-wide age level managers (Children's Services, Teen Services, and Adult Services), so anyone interest in applying should do so in the next week.   The CLXO job description is being rewritten to reflect the changes, and we may use a search firm to recruit candidates.

Review of Alignment Project Work Plan

Response to Alignment and Consideration of Next Steps

  • The group discussed questions and feedback related to the alignment.  Senior managers and library managers will be checking in to ensure that staff have an opportunity to ask questions. 

  • Mapping for non-public services divisions and departments will be posted on the intranet this week.

  • Currently vacant positions and FTEs are being used to open positions and complete the Alignment mapping.  While some of the positions may be reallocated back to the library/department from which they came, this will be done after the Alignment is completed and on a case-by-case basis.
