Policy

It is the policy of the Metropolitan Library Commission, acting through the procedures implemented for this purpose, that all employees of the Metropolitan Library System shall take the loyalty oath as adopted by the State of Oklahoma for all public officials and employees.

Said oath is a condition of employment with the library system and shall be administered on or before the first day of employment. The signed oath shall be maintained as a part of the employee’s personnel file in the Human Resources Office. Failure to take the loyalty oath and sign the written version there of, shall be a bar from employment with the library system until so taken. Any individual failing to take the oath and subscribe to the written version, shall not be allowed to work and failing to do so within three (3) working days shall forfeit all rights to employment with the library system and shall not have the right to grieve the matter through the Grievance Procedure.
