SF 300 Investment Policy

The Deputy Executive Director/Finance of the Metropolitan Library System, as authorized by the Executive Director, and acting on behalf of the Metropolitan Library Commission, will invest available library funds in the following:

  1. The Metropolitan Library Act (62 O.S. 1971, Section 551 et seq.) empowers the Metropolitan Library Commission to administer the expenditure of funds derived from the library tax levy and from fines, fees, sales of personal property and other miscellaneous income.  The purpose of these policies is to ensure that purchases are made in a transparent and competitive manner that is in the best interest of the Library and the taxpayers.

Policy Statement

In order to safeguard the Library System's assets, the Business Office will monitor and administer an inventory of all furniture and equipment that exceeds $1000 in value.

SH 611 Unexpected Closure

Purpose

The Metropolitan Library System (“Library System”) is committed to providing favorable working conditions for its employees. The purpose of the Unexpected Closure policy gives primary consideration to the safety of staff and customers. The Library System will make its own determination on operating hours due to inclement weather or other emergency situations.

SH 130 Attendance and Tardiness

Purpose

The Metropolitan Library System (“Library System) is committed to providing favorable working conditions for its employees.  To provide the highest quality service to our customers, the Library System considers punctual and regular attendance an essential function of each employee’s job.  The purpose of the Attendance and Tardiness policy is to provide employees with the Library System’s expectations for work attendance.

VG 120 Public Comment During Commission Meetings

Members of the public, including delegations or individuals, have the right, and are encouraged, to attend meetings of the Metropolitan Library Commission and to listen to and observe its deliberations. In the interest of orderly conduct of Commission meetings, spontaneous discussion from the floor shall not be permitted.

VG 330 Open Records Act

Policy

The Open Records policy ensures that the Metropolitan Library System establishes reasonable access to Library System records subject to release under the Oklahoma Open Records Act (51 O.S. 24A.1. et seq, eff. June 1, 2001), protects the integrity and organization of Library records, and helps prevent disruption of the Library's essential functions.
