Aspen is LIVE!

There are a couple of things to note:
1. Holds cannot be placed on magazines in Aspen. Holds can still be placed for guests in CarlX or Carl Connect.  There is development to make this an option and we will notify you as soon as it is available.
2. Lists were pulled from CARL.X on Friday, so any updates guests made to their lists after that did not come over. 
3. Print newspapers do not display in Aspen because they don’t have items.

Features of Aspen to tell guests as they ask about the new catalog:
• Guests can search physical material as well as Libby and Hoopla titles to place holds or check out.  “Your Account” in Aspen will give guests an account summary of everything checked out, overdue, on hold, and ready for pickup…including Libby and Hoopla.
• Guests will be able to rate what they have read and will get Recommended titles based on their preferences.
• Guests will be able to link the accounts of members of their family.
• In the Kids’ Catalog, you can search for books by Accelerated Reading level and see how many points each book is worth.
• Find the Sequoyah Book Award titles for Children, Intermediate, and High School categories for those K-12 readers!
• Guests will be able to search for events in the catalog, as well as save events to their account . If registration is required, Aspen will direct the guest to the proper page in Library Market to register.
• Guests can search for articles in all the Ebsco databases using the catalog.
• We have also included other electronic resources which are part of the search results: Kanopy (streaming videos), Creativebug (instructions and videos on crafts), PressReader (thousands of magazines and newspapers from across the globe), and much more!
• If guests had reading lists or reading history in the old catalog, they are being moved to the new catalog.
