Database Highlight pause for Suicide Prevention Week

Print

There’s no database highlight this week because there’s no good database providing the answers to a problem staff and members know all too well. This week is Suicide Prevention Week. Chances are you or someone you care about has been affected. Many struggling are MLS members.

Please take a minute to familiarize yourself with these hotlines:

NATIONAL
Reachout National Hotline

Crisis & Information Line
24 hours / 7 days
1-800-522-9054

OKLAHOMA CITY
HeartLine, Inc.  - just dial 211

24 hours / 7 days
(405) 848-CARE (2273)

And for those who prefer online communication:

Heartline Oklahoma

For even more information, Meg Hunt wrote a great Dog Eared post  that links out to the hotlines plus other organizations assisting those and their families needing help.

And for something to make you smile – Cute Overload. The blog shuttered in 2016 but there’s still ten years worth of archived cute!

Memory & N11 Codes

With the role that alcohol plays in a percentage of suicides, having a memorable 211 is important.
A slightly on topic tidbit is N11 Codes. I know that we also have 811 & 311 in Tulsa & I wish that we had it here. 711 goes well with our typewriter telephone at VI.
