Still not convinced a Health Screening is for you?

Here’s a word from our Executive Director, Tim Rogers:

Like everyone, I want to live a long, full life. I have come to realize how important tracking my own health targets (biometrics) are, so that I can make better choices -- for me and my family. I love that we are able to give each Metro Libber the ability to do the same thing, and I hope you all take advantage of the free Health Screenings you get just by being an employee. Part time or full time, man or woman, youthful or slightly more experienced, it's available to everyone. I hope to see you all at the screenings.

And here is Benefits Manager Stephany Dowd:

One of my dreams when I retire is to travel the United States full time. In order to fulfill that dream, it is important to me to get a biometric screening each year. The screening results motivate me to adjust or maintain my lifestyle choices to reduce my risk for chronic diseases. When I make my health a priority I feel better, I think more clearly, and overall I am a happier person. If you haven’t already, consider signing up for a screening. The screenings are a great tool to take control of your health.

And, finally, Human Resources Administrative Specialist Kasandra Dewbre-Burrows:

I'm always surprised by the number of employees who contact me after the screenings to tell me about their results. I've heard everything from "I had no idea my triglycerides were that high!" to "My blood pressure was so much better this year -- my doctor says I can get off of my medication!" I had a similar experience with my first screening and now look forward to getting that snap shot of my health every year. It makes me so proud of the Wellness Works program and so thankful that the library system cares about its employees and is willing to offer such a helpful service. And this year we've changed things to make the process faster/easier (finger stick screenings!) and more informative (A1C testing!), it's even more valuable!
