Zinio App Rebranding to RBdigital

Staring on July 10th (UPDATE: As of July 26th, this message has yet to be sent to users), Zinio app users will see a message guiding them to download Recorded Books Digital’s (RBD) new RBdigital app. This migration is a part of the company’s plan to merge all their content into one centralized location. While RBD is anticipating a smooth merge, there’s always the possibility of down times, glitches, etc. During the actual merge, starting June 26th at 8 p.m., users can anticipate a down time of 14 hours (8 pm on 6/26-midnight on 6/28).
For a quick list of FAQs concerning the migration, click here. I’ve also attached a copy of the pdf.
The biggest question is, of course, how will this affect our members?
Answer: Hopefully, very little. Active users of the Zinio app will receive a notification about the new RBdigital app along with a link to download it. Once they download the new app and login, they will see their previously downloaded content. The Zinio app will stay live for a few months to give everyone time to make the switch.
Web users won’t see any difference. The Zinio website will remain exactly the same – name and all. Eventually, it will also be rebranded RBdigital.
One good impact is the new app should give (or will very soon give) our members the ability to search the magazine collection directly through the app! Currently, you must use the Zinio website to find a magazine and download it and only then will appear in the app. Higher usage is anticipated once this in-app search feature is available.
Please continue to promote and use Zinio through this change.
