Upcoming Access and Engagement Panels and Videos

If you were not able to attend the Access and Engagement Panel in Midwest City, there are more opportunities to attend a panel and discussion at the below times and locations. To supplement this, videos from the panel in Midwest City and conversation starters are also available here for you to review.
We encourage you first and foremost to attend one of the panels. In addition to seeing Meghan Attalla, Jessica Gonzalez, and myself [Ben Mead-Harvey] present the information in the video, if you attend the upcoming panels you will have the chance to ask questions and engage in the group conversation afterward.
As always, please make sure you get supervisor approval before attending.
Upcoming Panels:
Date | Time | Location |
---|---|---|
Wed, Feb. 14 | 9:00 AM | Capitol Hill |
Tues, Feb 27 | 4:00 PM | Warr Acres |
Fri, Mar. 2 | 2:00 PM | Edmond |
If you can’t make one of the meetings, our next suggestion is for local managers to make these a topic in team meetings. We suggest having everyone watch the videos beforehand, then come together to discuss. Here are a couple questions that might help get that conversation started:
For folks in departments:
- Did this help clarify the new service model?
- Does it help explain the difference between Access and Engagement?
- What aspects are still a mystery?
- Do you see how it is an improvement, or are you unconvinced? Why?
- What is one piece of new information you’ll walk away with after this discussion?
For folks at the libraries:
- Did we explain the change correctly, or do you disagree?
- Are things working differently than we described at your branch?
- Are you getting a better sense of what Access means and what Engagement means?
- What questions do you still have?
- Do you see how it is an improvement, or are you unconvinced? Why?
- What is one piece of new information you’ll walk away with after this discussion?
