Tax Season is Here!!!

Tax season is here, and we have the resources library customers are looking for! Check out the library’s tax page for
AARP and VITA offer free tax assistance throughout Oklahoma County and we’ve created a printable flyer listing all of those locations. This tax help document will be updated throughout tax season as more sites open. If you are aware of any changes, please notify Julia in EPS. The library will not be offering tax help at any of our locations this year.
The IRS is eliminating the 1040A and 1040EZ tax forms. Instead all filers will use the 1040 form and schedules 1-6 as necessary. Many filers will only need to fill out the 1040 form. Filers with more complicated taxes may need to fill out one of schedules. For more information info please see the IRS's webpage: https://www.irs.gov/forms-pubs/about-form-1040.
Just a friendly reminder, as library employees we are here to provide access to information and resources (forms, tax-help locations, instruction booklets, etc). We are not, however, able to give tax advice or instruct customers on which forms they should use. If customers have any tax questions, they should visit the IRS website (www.irs.gov), see a tax professional, or visit one of the AARP or VITA tax help locations.
