Systemwide Kit Creation for Juneteenth

Summary: We are looking for proposals for a variety of kits helping our community learn about and celebrate Juneteenth. Proposals are due by March 20th and should be emailed to [email protected].
Daniel Chesney, Anne Hall, Serina Freeman, and Dana Beach have been working to create a set of standard procedures for offering system level kits with more regularity around system identified themes. We hope that this will allow staff a chance to get experience working on system level programs and give staff the recognition they deserve for the high-quality kits they have been creating. It will also help us better leverage system resources by reducing staff time needed to plan kits and allowing for group marketing.
Our first theme for this system level kit collaboration will be Juneteenth. Please review the Workflow Timeline and Best Practices for Content Creators. documents. Being a system content creator should add only a few additional hours of work to your standard program planning workflow. I hope you will then submit a proposal using the Proposal Form - System Kit. Download the form to your computer, fill it out in Adobe Reader, and then email the completed proposal to [email protected] by March 20th. (Note this is later than indicated in the workflow document. We will work to return to the laid-out timeline but want to ensure plenty of time for staff to develop ideas).
As you dream up proposals, we encourage you to research the breadth of Juneteenth celebrations. While Juneteenth originally celebrated the freedom of enslaved people at the end of the Civil War, it has grown to be a celebration of those who have worked for liberation, a call to continue that work, and a celebration of African American culture. Proposals could reflect any of these facets.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out via [email protected].
