Save the Date – Staff Development Day

We’re excited to begin announcing the details for our 2019 Staff Development Day on Monday, October 14, 2019 at Embassy Suites Hotel in OKC!

Registration is Coming Out Soon

We hope you’re as excited as the Staff Development Day committee is because it is going to be not only a day of learning, but a day for fun and comradery as we build together for tomorrow.

Registration will be Tuesday, Sept. 3 until Thursday, Sept. 12. Check your email and the Intranet for updates.

Four Things to Know Today About this Year’s Staff Development Day

1. “Building Together for Tomorrow”

This year’s theme for Staff Development Day is “Building Together for Tomorrow”, andeverything will be decked out LEGO-style! We chose this theme to focus our efforts with the goal of growing and building together with our co-workers by developing skills that will help us best serve our customers.

2. We want you to enjoy the day with your co-workers, but full time staff that can’t make it will be required to attend make-up training.

We want everyone to have the opportunity to learn, grow and develop with their peers on Staff Development Day. To assure that staff complete necessary training, any full-time staff that miss Staff Development Day or part of the day will be required to make it up with online and onsite training. If for some reason staff cannot attend, they will need to call Kelley Hoffman, HUM Director at x3743.

3. We love having our wonderful half/part-time staff join us, too!

Half/part-time staff are welcome to join us for the whole day or part of the day (8am-12:30pm or 11:30am-4pm or all day) if they can work it into their regular weekly work hours (please speak with your supervisor before registering). If a half/part-time staff member registers to attend and fails to show up, they will be required to make up the number of hours they registered for as a part of Staff Development Day training. Should they be unable to attend after they have already registered, they will need to call Kelley Hoffman, HUM Director at x3743

4. You’re going to have a BLAST building your expertise at these breakouts! Here’s just a few of the great ones!
   
   1. Personal Awareness & Self Defense

Have you ever felt uneasy walking to your car at night? Or nervous going for a morning run alone? Or just want to learn proven techniques to keep you safe? This year’s Staff Development Day breakout sessions include a self-defense workshop! Don’t worry, we won’t make you wax on, wax off, but we will help better prepare you to defend yourself!

2. Full Volume Teamwork: Case Studies from the Greatest Bands in Rock

Learn from American Fidelity corporate trainer David B. McLaughlin how to build a rock star team while avoiding the pitfalls that break up the band!
