Metro Library, the system that was on fire!

Many of you are undoubtedly jumping for joy that we have reached the conclusion of the Summer Reading Program. We managed to not only reach our goal, but surpass it by over 2 million minutes!

Every library location took positive steps toward our system-wide goal, and to have 19 libraries working together as a team to achieve what may have felt impossible a few weeks ago is inspiring. Special thanks to each and every one of you for your hard work, dedication, and commitment to serving our community.

Although you are all winners in my book, the staff members at three of our libraries reached above and beyond in their quest to help members record as many minutes of reading as possible this summer. Please join me in congratulating the top three libraries with the greatest percentage of change during the challenge:

STARTING AVERAGE ENDING AVERAGE % CHANGE
1. The Village 640 1949 204%
2. Ralph Ellison 265 768 190%
3. Southern Oaks 474 1036 119%

Staff at these libraries will each receive a limited edition, 2017 SRP Staff Competition t-shirt. The Village Library Staff will also receive a pizza party while administrative staff cover the front lines during their lunch absence.
