An Afternoon with Joy Harjo at Belle Isle

Belle Isle's This Universe is You program featuring Joy Harjo took place this past Saturday and had a beautiful turnout of 121 in person guests. The live stream from the event is currently posted on our Facebook Page for those unable to attend. Per our contract, it will be taken down after 30 days from the event date, so make sure to check it out if you haven't had a chance. 

It seemed that every guest in attendance stayed for the book signing and Full Circle sold out of every copy of Joy's work that they brought. We had a kind guest drive up to Full Circle to bring back what they had left on their shelves and those copies then proceeded to be sold out! 

Kudos goes out to Allie Barton and Tara Golden for dreaming up this magical event and making it come to life! The teamwork on display at Belle Isle on Saturday was incredible, with everyone pitching in to make the afternoon absolutely perfect for our community. Another special thanks goes out to our Marcie Jackson for her photography and design work and Megan Filipowski for her social media promotion and day of live streaming. Thank you to the entire Marketing Department for making sure we promoted and thoughtfully captured this commemorative day for our Belle Isle guests.
