Describe Project and Impact:
A mother and infant/young child bonding experience through yoga.
Project Description and Expected Outcomes:
Using area yoga instructors, provide yoga classes that focus on new mothers with young children (infants through toddlers). Using gentle techniques suited to post-partum activity, new mothers and their children can strengthen their bond and their bodies simultaneously.
Why should we select this project?:
Providing a simple exercise class to mothers with young children begins the lifelong library experience from birth. It gets parents and caregivers into the habit of coming to the library and utilizing library resources.
Constraints, Limitations, or Dependencies:
We need to identify a yoga instructor willing to work with the library at offering these classes.

I pioneered this program at the McBride Memorial Library in Berwick, PA.
