Kiona shared some books in our library that have examples of this type of art.
Handouts:
Mystery Kits are available to check out from Outreach. These kits are for creating a mystery night program with teens. A list of the kits available was passed out. A pop culture quiz was among the handouts as was an article about teen audio books and ways to promote audiobooks in the library.

Debbie does many different types of art classes at the OKC Moa. Emily thinks teens would like the wire art class that she teaches.

Summer Reading:
Cheryl Coleman (WA) expressed gratitude to all the volunteers who stuffed packages for the summer. She said they really made the summer much easier. She also suggested that we give the backpacks at a goal 1 prize or having a really good goal 1 prize. She said that many teens signed up to get the bag, but did not follow through to get any of the other prizes.
Teresa Matthews (ED) suggested free MP3 downloads as a prize.
John Hilbert (SO) talked about the board that he and Cheryll Smith created to show all the prizes at each of the levels. He said it made it much easier to explain what the kids and teens would receive for reaching their goals. Emily mentioned that this is something Outreach and Marketing are talking about doing for all the libraries next year.
Cheryl Coleman (WA) mentioned her concern that the reading certificates (for the children) were in the envelope and not signed. Emily and Lisa talked about the idea that we would “sign” them with a stamp or have them overprinted with Spoticus’ signature.
Josh Schell (VI) mentioned contacting Best Buy for donations for next year.
Emily showed the artwork for next summer and handed out the promotional catalogs. She also talked about the theme for 2009 and requested ideas to be submitted to her or Adrienne @ ODL for the manual. Emily talked about the Wiki that Adrienne created for the artists and presenters.
