Summer Reading 2010

Changes? Challenges? It was suggested that having no Whitewater Bay passes would be easier. There were problems with children not having parents there when they signed up and the opposite problem with daycares signing up children who were not there. Dishonesty in box-stuffing was discussed. Emily asked about prizes/giveaways, especially string bags. All agrees to have bags again, possibly in red this time. Goal 1 prize ideas were suggested: tennis shoe keychains, inflatable globes, facebook credits, mugs, globe squish balls, boomerangs, and luggage tags. Drawing prizes were also discussed.

Heidi Port talked about the “Volunteer Stick-a-thon” at the Service Center, March 15-16, 2011. This will be to put goal stickers on the prize envelopes. She also talked about volunteer management software and a discussion about what was needed occurred.

Kellie Delaney pointed out Marketing and database resources on the intranet. She said something will be highlighted on the main page of the MLS website every month.

Monica Buck talked about her “Juggle Whatever” company and demonstrated juggling with Mallory. She is offering to do a teen program at our libraries.
